On Monday, the 20th February 2017 the Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL), Honourable Ntombi Mekgwe will preside over the Official Opening of the Fourth Session of the Fifth Legislature, where in terms of Rule 15 of the Standing Orders, the Honourable Premier David Makhura will deliver the State of the Province Address at the Green Hills Stadium in Randfontein.

To ensure ease of access for Honourable Members and all guests to the Green Hills Stadium where the opening will take place, some street closures will be implemented. The following roads and intersections will be closed and monitored from 6h00 on the 20 February 2017:

  • Full closure of Northway road between and Crane road
  • Delmas road to be avoided due to condition of the road

The following intersections will be monitored but not closed off:

  1. Zuurbekom and Cooke1
  2. N12 and R28
  3. R559 and Carletonville roads
  4. R28 Krugersdorp

Inconveniences caused to local motorists as a result of these road closures are regretted, and motorists will be redirected to alternative routes.
