During the by-elections contested on 31 January 2024 in Bushbuckridge, the African National Congress (ANC) retained its seat.
The new ANC councillor is:
Petros Mahommed Male, in Ward 03 in Bushbuckridge Municipality – MP325, Mpumalanga. The party retained the seat it won in the 2021 Municipal Elections, with 66,77% of the total votes cast, compared to 56,05% during the 2021 Municipal Elections. Voter turnout was 41,01%.
