Today, the EFF Joburg Region expressed its shock and disgust towards the incompetent Gauteng Department of Health MEC after a trailer carrying 42 bodies from Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital en route to the Olifantslei Cemetery in Soweto broke down on the M1 south Highway.

The EFF squally puts the blame to the MEC Dr. Gwen Ramokgopa and her department for contracting an incompetent service provider to transport coffins of 16 adults and 26 stillborn infants using a trailer covered with a plastic sail.

This dreadful incident happened this afternoon (Wednesday) in full view of motorist driving on the M1 south in Braamfontain when the trailer’s wheel came off while the vehicle was in motion.

EFF Public Safety Committee member fighter Donald Mabunda went to inspect the scene, on arrival, he discovered that the trailer’s wheel had dislodged.

Upon the JMPD’s arrival, they discovered that the driver of the trailer did not have any documentation that they are a registered mortuary nor any hospital documentation to move the bodies.

It is evidently clear that Gauteng Health department is run by useless people who have no respect for anything and anymore.

Therefore, the EFF calls on the Gauteng Premier to first suspend the MEC for incompetency and conduct a full investigation upon the Provincial Department of Health.

As the EFF we want to understand who gave the orders of that over two dozens of bodies should be transported in this matter, clearly there is something terribly wrong which is happening in this department, we have moved from a very bad situation, the Life Esidimeni massacre to a worse situation, both these incidents concern the state of human beings.

The EFF will not leave no stone unturned in getting the answers and making sure that the authorities of this hopeless department to face the full might of the law.
