Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Jeff Radebe, on Thursday announced that Cabinet has approved the draft Youth Policy 2014 - 2019 be made available for public comment.
“The draft policy is a progression from the first 2009 - 2014 Youth Policy. Youth development is at the core of South Africa’s development agenda,” he said.
Radebe said the 2014 - 2019 policy will enhance the capabilities of young people to transform the economy and society by addressing their needs for holistic development, particularly those outside the social, political and economic mainstream.
Radebe said Cabinet has also approved the publication of the draft National Disability Rights Policy in the Government Gazette for public comment.
