DEPUTY MINISTER MANANA TO OFFICIALLY OPEN THE NEWLY BUILT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTRE IN MPUMALANGA PROVINCE

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Mduduzi Manana, MP, will visit the community of Bethal, in the province of Mpumalanga to officially open the CETA/Gert Sibande Skills Development Centre, on Monday, 28 November 2016.

The centre has already begun training of 200 youth in Community House Building L2 qualification. Students have received theoretical training at Gert Sibande TVET College. The construction of the skills centre was used as a practical work place for the students. On the day of the launch, 19 of these students will officially graduate as they have successfully completed both theoretical and practical requirements.

This is the government’s intervention to bring skills development and training to underserved communities in a bid to expand access to post-school education.
