EFF Mogale City councillors to be punished
The EFF council members who helped the ANC pass the Mogale City local municipality’s budget will face disciplinary proceedings, party leader Julius Malema said yesterday.
Malema said they were being punished for attending a meeting they were instructed not to attend adding that a vote with the ANC meant a vote for corruption.
Last week, at least seven EFF councillors attended a council meeting and voted with the ANC to adopt a budget the new mayor, ANC councillor Patrick Lipudi, had tabled.
Makhosi Khoza says 'they can't kill us all'
Despite the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal threatening MP Makhosi Khoza with disciplinary steps, she insists she will not back down from her criticism of the party and its leaders.
She said she had been singled out as a troublemaker by those who wanted her to go quite adding that she was accused of extreme ill-discipline for standing for what she believed in.
Khoza said she decided, after receiving death threats, that she would not "die silently".
SA committed to increasing trade with Zambia
South Africa was committed to increasing trade and addressing the trade imbalance with Zambia.
This was according to South Africa’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies, ahead of a two-day Outward Trade and Investment Mission to Lusaka, Zambia, from 24-25 July.
Zambia is one of South Africa’s top five trade partners in the Southern African Development Community region with total bilateral trade amounting to R33-billion in 2016.
