Tomorrow, Friday 18 March, the DA Shadow Minister of Health, Michele Clarke MP, will do an oversight inspection at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Phoenix.
She will be accompanied by the DA Constituency Head for Phoenix, Haniff Hoosen MP.
Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital has faced numerous failings, including long waiting times, severe understaffing, lack of beds and poor patient care.
Many will remember the Klebsiella outbreak in its nursery in 2016 that resulted in the tragic deaths of many babies. There have been many patient complaints seemingly ignored by a lack of will from both Hospital management and MEC Simelane-Zulu.
There have been numerous promises but a distinct lack of action.
Details of the oversight inspection:
Date: Friday 18 March
Time: 10:00
Place: Administrative Building of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital
