The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Ekurhuleni is excited to announce that our persistent efforts to advocate for water reticulation upgrades in Bedfordview have finally borne fruit. After numerous petitions and dedicated outreach, the City’s water planning department has confirmed that significant improvements are on the way.

We extend our gratitude to the residents of Bedfordview for their unwavering commitment to this cause. Your support in signing our petitions has been instrumental in bringing about these water upgrades.

Several streets in Bedfordview will receive new water lines to enhance and optimise the reliability of our water infrastructure. The upgrades are set to commence in July 2025.

The following streets are selected for water reticulation upgrades:

  • Cheetham
  • Shakespeare
  • Milton
  • Johnson

In a time dominated by water shortages, it is important to strengthen and secure our infrastructure. We cannot afford to waste our precious water resources due to ongoing leaks and bursts all over the city.

The DA government is committed to achieving provision of clean and sustainable water supplies for all residents.

Issued by Cllr Jill Humphreys - City of Ekurhuleni Ward 20 Councillor
