The DA congratulates Francois Rodgers on his appointment as MEC for Finance and Martin Meyer as MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure.
Both Members of the Legislature have extensive experience in their respective portfolio’s which will allow them to hit the ground running to ensure that the DA, and the GPU start urgently addressing the many challenges that exist in the province.
In time to come, the MEC’s will outline their priorities measured against our provincial manifesto to ensure that we are able to deliver against the promises we have made during the elections.
Today’s announcement by the Premier is proof that the concept of a Government of National Unity can work and will work. The DA is proud that this has been shown in the province of KwaZulu-Natal and we trust it will inspire our leaders in national government to replicate this.
The DA in KZN is proud of its achievements to date to ensure that we kept the province out of the hands of the MK and EFF, as well as secure a new Premier and representation in the new Cabinet.
We look forward to working with our partners and Premier Ntuli to ensure that we collectively rescue KZN.
The hard work to improve the province that we so long for begins today and we will not waste the opportunity that has been given to us by the voters.
