South Africa recorded 1 557 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, which represented a 6% positivity rate.
Three new Covid-19 deaths were reported in the last 48 hours, bringing the confirmed death toll to 99 978.
Gauteng recorded 595 new cases on Tuesday, KwaZulu-Natal 335 and the Western Cape 108.
There are 13 163 active cases in the country.
According to a statement by the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), as of Tuesday, the country recorded 3 715 390 laboratory-confirmed cases.
South Africa conducted 23 783 240 tests, of which 25 936 were carried out in the last 24-hour reporting cycle.
According to the Department of Health, 33 569 841 vaccine doses have been administered. Of those, 78 848 were administered on Tuesday. More than 2.1-million booster shots have been administered.
To date, 17 479 028 adults are fully vaccinated, which represents just under 44% of the adult population. Among children aged 12 and older, 1 934 443 vaccine doses have been administered.
