The GOOD Party would like to clarify that our supporters will not be protesting outside the upcoming Chris Brown Concert.

It has been alluded to in the media and social media that Big Concert will be beefing up security for the 2 concerts on the 14th and 15th of December.

As GOOD we remain disappointed that Big Concerts and the Minister of Home Affairs were unwilling to engage us on issues surrounding the Breezy in SA tour.

Today marks the end of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign.

On average, 10 women and 3 children are killed daily across South Africa.

Urgent action is needed if we are to address the route cause of this issue.

Our country needs to start promoting positive masculinity not platforming a convicted abuser.

According to a statement by government we need ‘accelerate and amplify multisectoral and whole-of-society accountability’.

However, it is clear, big corporations and government will only commit to eradicating GBVF for 16 days.

Anything that falls outside of the campaign is silenced or ignored.

We have not fought this necessary battle alone.

We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with the NGO Women for Change and will continue to work with them to demand that our national campaigns against GBVF are not just advertising campaigns but are supported by bold, courageous and meaningful action.

We call on businesses and government leaders to demonstrate courage and action too

If they want to take the plight of GBV seriously they cannot replicate this shameful display of sticking their heads in the sand.
