Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr (CDH), a leading pan-African corporate and commercial law firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of two Directors Khaya Mantengu, who returns to CDH, and Sentebale Makara who both joined our esteemed Dispute Resolution practice in February 2024.

According to Rishaban Moodley, Head of CDH's Dispute Resolution practice, "The local construction sector is facing strong headwinds which directly impacts investment in infrastructure projects, and overall construction activity. With our extensive standing and experience in construction law, we recognise the complexities in this sector and are able to navigate its intricacies with foresight and impact for the benefit of our clients."

Moodley continues, "The appointment of Khaya to our construction and engineering sector, within our Dispute Resolution practice, underlines our commitment to providing quality and excellence in our service delivery to clients. We welcome Khaya's diverse experience that includes representing clients in diverse sectors, including public and state companies,” says Moodley.

"We also welcome Sentebale, a qualified mediator for the State of Missouri, who is well recognised for his client-centricity and specialised expertise in construction, engineering, mining, energy, and commercial litigation," continues Moodley. "Sentebale joins us with a deep understanding of clients' challenges and expectations, and his ability to meet those needs effectively. His experience includes acting on behalf of well-established national and international companies in the construction, mining, renewable energy, and telecommunications space, including in relation to forensic investigations, disciplinary and other inquiries and disputes."

We have no doubt that they will actively seek ways to enhance the client experience and maintain our competitive edge in this challenging landscape."

CDH also welcomes two new associates, Zodwa Malinga and Dipuo Titipana to the Dispute Resolution practice. Zodwa offers a wealth of expertise in construction dispute resolution and commercial litigation. Dipuo's specialisation in banking, insolvency, business rescue, Companies Act, and property-related disputes is complemented by a track record of successfully handling cases in various courts, representing esteemed corporate entities.

“The combined expertise of Khaya, Sentebale, Zodwa, and Dipuo demonstrates our commitment to consistently deliver high-quality results to our clients,” Williams concludes.
