The ANC Women's League is proud to play its part in solidarity and support of oppressed peoples of the world struggling for political freedom. ANC Women’s League as an organisation of fearless women, will be gathering to show our solidarity and support of the Palestinian cause and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions commonly known as BDS Movement. Our special focus is on the women of Palestine who are strapped in the bondages of the apartheid government of Israel.

ANC Women’s League National Executive Committee member and senior leader, comrade Dr Nokosazana Dlamini-Zuma, will be joining the international call by ANCWL in Bokone Bophirima when she will be speaking at the #IsraeliApartheidWeek lecture.

The event has been planned as follows:

DATE : MONDAY 27TH MARCH 2017

TIME : 14H00

VENUE   : RUSTENBURG – BEN MARAIS HALL

The freedom struggle of Palestinians against apartheid Israeli laws so aptly exposes the imperialist agenda which aims to reduce indigenous peoples into beggars under various forms of apartheid, colonialism and bondages.

The annual #IsraeliApartheidWeek campaign is supported by the ANC Women's League for a number of years but we feel that we must intensify our campaigns and programs in support of the Palestinian people, and the women of Palestine in particular. We also note Israel’s increasing racism against Africans that must be opposed as well as its attempts to get into the African Union. We are proud that under Comrade Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma’s leadership, the AU turned down Israeli attempts to be part of that progressive Union of Africans.

The ANC Women’s League finds solace in the acumen of Leila Khaled, a Palestinian woman who is leading the women’s struggle there and for that reason we also hosted her as the province two years ago.
