Business Unity South Africa (Busa) on Thursday joined millions of South Africans in mourning the passing of struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
Madikizela-Mandela passed away at Milpark Hospital, in Johannesburg on Monday, after a long illness.
In a statement Busa extended its condolences to Madikizela-Mandela’s extended family and said it recognised the role the stalwart played in fighting for a free and fair South Africa.
“The passing of Mam’ Winnie Mandela leaves a void that will be hard to fill in a country that is still struggling to realise the ideals of equal treatment for all people and the empowerment of women,” stated Busa.
It went on to say that Madikizela-Mandela was an exemplary woman who devoted herself to the nation and its people.
