Alan Keep, managing partner of the Bowman Gilfillan Africa Group has been named Managing Partner of the Year by Law Digest Africa.
According to the publication, the awards are “a brand new concept in recognising and honouring excellence in the African legal services market, by recognising the contributions of individual lawyers, law firms and in-house teams”.
Keep was given the award because the Bowman Gilfillan Africa Group “has enjoyed significant growth during Alan’s tenure and continues to progress towards fulfilling the group’s strategy”.
Keep says, "It is an honour to receive this award. I’m grateful for the individual recognition, but am mindful that the achievement is based on our firm’s success. Being recognised in this way is fitting acknowledgement of the progress we have made towards achieving our vision of becoming the pre-eminent Pan-African law firm."
The Bowman Gilfillan Africa Group delivers integrated legal services to clients throughout Africa from eight offices (Antananarivo, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Durban, Gaborone, Johannesburg, Kampala and Nairobi) in six countries (Botswana, Kenya, Madagascar, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda) and provides coverage of francophone OHADA jurisdictions across the continent from its office in Madagascar.
The firm works closely with leading Nigerian firm, Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie, which has offices in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, and has strong relationships with other leading law firms across the rest of Africa.
