African Transformation Movement (ATM) North West notes with a huge sigh of relief news that 2019 edition of the annual Mahika Mahikeng event has been put on hold.

African Transformation Movement in the North West Province is happy with this swift action, though we sympathize with local business people and artists who are going to miss out on the opportunity to make some end meets this festive season.
It has always been our conviction that government events in this province, are used to fundraise for intra-party programs (squabbles). We know for a fact that the governing party is going to its provincial elective conference hence we see politicians trying to staff-ride government events in order to raise money for their internal party campaigns.
Corruption has no space in our society.
ATM North West holds a view that events such as Mahika Mahikeng must be STRICTLY beneficial to artists and business people of this Province. In fact, artists must benefit more than any other stakeholder.
ATM North West calls on the Premier to launch an internal investigations so that if indeed, claims as made unanimously turns out to be true, then the matter can escalated to authorities for further steps against those who may be found wanting on the wrong side of the law.
African Transformation Movement calls for the ring-fencing of the Microeconomic space for locals.
