Another major tech company has partnered with legal technology firm LexisNexis South Africa to facilitate its first ever Durban meetup. In August the Elastic Durban Meetup made its debut focusing on open source search and analytics and this month, on Wednesday, 23 October, Robotics Process Automation (RPA) specialist UiPath will be making a presentation on RPA and the role it plays in systems automation.

LexisNexis Chief Technical Officer, Terrance Naidoo, said, “Due to the success of our recent AI meetups in Durban, we have now collaborated with UiPath to bring in one of their experts to lead a meetup at our offices and address the city’s growing technical community. UiPath regional sales manager Michael Law is an IT veteran of over 20 years, who will give a brief overview of RPA, before UiPath Customer Success Manager, Tertius Nel, takes over to unpack the RPA concept and provide a practical demo of RPA in action through various case studies.”

With a career spanning over 14 years, Nel joined UiPath at the beginning of 2019 as a Customer Success Manager. This leading enterprise RPA software company has just moved up from #14 to #3 in this year's ranking of the top 100 private cloud companies in the world, published annually by Forbes in partnership with Bessemer Venture Partners and Salesforce Ventures. UiPath has developed a strong community of RPA developers, partners and customers, providing platforms such as Forum, Academy, Go! and Connect!, and hosting events such as  UiPath Together and hackathons.

The legal tech meetups powered by LexisNexis are growing in popularity and provide a new platform for the tech community to meet and collaborate on ideas. This will be the third such event in Durban, with expert speakers at the past events in Johannesburg and Durban having included respected tech principals, AI practitioners, data scientists, startups and more.

LexisNexis continues to evolve from its earliest days as a legal print publisher, now providing an extensive range of intuitive electronic solutions to meet client needs. In addition to RPA, LexisNexis is deploying AI, including NLP, and visualisations to draw knowledge, actions and conclusions, while enriching the data to serve clients and make the practice of law more efficient.

The discussions at the UiPath Durban Meetup will be followed by networking and refreshments.

Corporate, legal and tech professionals interested in attending this event should RSVP at  https://www.meetup.com/Durban-Artificial-Intelligence-Meetup/events/265473294/.

The UiPath Durban Meetup takes place on Wednesday, 23 October 2019, from 18h00 – 21h00 in the Nelson Mandela room at LexisNexis Durban, 215 Peter Mokaba Road, Morningside, Durban.
