The African National Congress (ANC) national and provincial lists registered by ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule on 13 March 2019 with the IEC, represent a true generational mix, reflecting renewal and relevance to new generations, as well as experience and continuity.

The ANC enforced in its List guidelines a quota of at least 20% of young people. We, therefore, represent to South Africa, young men and women, who will bring new energy and ideas to parliament and provincial legislatures.

The list of young candidates, include current NEC members such as cde Ronald Lamola, a practicing lawyer, deputy chair of the Economic Transformation subcommittee and the former Deputy President of the ANC Youth League. Cde Lamola is in position number 5 on our national to national list.

On ANC lists are other young bloods like Tasneem Motara, former MP and current ANC Gauteng Spokesperson;  and Mbali Hlope, a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of ANC Gauteng and a former chairperson of the Wits SASCO branch.  It also includes student leaders like SASCO President and General Secretary, Avela Mjajubana and Lwando Majiza; COSAS Secretary General Nkhobo Khomongoe  and Fees Must Fall leaders, Nompendulo Mkhatswa and Fasiha Hassan.

Secretary General, Njabulo Nzuza; as well as Youth League Provincial chairpersons Bongiwe Mbingqo-Gigaba (N Cape); Kwazikwenkosi Mshengu (KZN) and Khaleed Sayed (W Cape).

Chemical engineering graduate, Bavelile Hlongwa, who is also the deputy chairperson of the NYDA and a NEC member of the ANC Youth League will help push the science and technology agenda.

The youngest candidate on our list, who turned 21, is Itumeleng Ntsube. If elected, he may qualify as the youngest public representative in our history.
