The African National Congress in North West welcomed six (6) members from
the United Christian Democratic Party (UCDP) and seven (7) members from
the Congress of the People (COPE).
The new members from the UCDP were candidates in the forth coming
by-elections which will be held on the 18th September 2013. They are
Collen Mabaso, Ntswaki Bokaba, Moeketsi Phakedi, Shadrack Dinko, Kgomotso
Kgomongwe and Disebo Nhlapo. They have already resigned their candidature
for these by elections in Tlokwe.
The new members from COPE are Evelyn Booysen, Elsie Mulligan, Sarah
Slambert, Michelle Beukes, Hillary Visagie, Wynton Louw and Aubrey
Fransman.
In welcoming these new members to the ANC, the ANC Provincial Chairperson,
Cde Supra Mahumapelo, read the ANC pledge to all the new members and
confirmed that they will be undergoing a compulsory political school
induction. The Chairperson asserted that the new members will advance
the ANC reconciliation; healing and renewal programme, affirming that the
ANC in Tlokwe and in the North West province is alive and that it leads.
