Dr Isaka ka Prexely Seme: The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal congratulates its structures in Vryheid sub-region for the revolutionary performance in the by-election held in Ward 08 in Abaqulusi Local Municipality.

The key takeaway from this by-election is ANC's winning of two Voting Districts out of three.

The number votes received yesterday shows a vast improvement compared to our performance in 2021 local government election.

Broadly speaking we have achieved our plans of reducing IFP votes and inflicting damage into the Multi-Party Charter which plans to bring back the apartheid’s Bantustans.

In particular, the ANC’s snatching of the Vryheid Racing Pigeon  Club Voting District from the IFP gives clear pointers of the excellent performance of our oiled local election machinery.

We also welcome another revolutionary performance in Sasko Bakery Voting District. This is where the ANC increased its votes from 20%  received in 2021 local government elections to 28% in yesterday’s by-election.

We emerge from Sasko Bakery VD with a clear victory after reducing IFP votes from 61%  attained in 2021 local government election to 49%.

Our local election teams did exceedingly well in this by-election and the presence of PEC members during the campaign brought hope to the local residents.

Previously dominated by the DA, Freedom Front +, the latest results have proved beyond reasonable doubt that the Multi-Party Charter is being rejected in this province.

Critically, these results show that the MK Party benefited from the IFP not from the ANC. This confirms our view that indeed birds of the same feather flock together.

With EFF tumbling down from 6% attained in 2021 to a merely 1%, we honestly have nothing to say about these ones.

We express our appreciation to the people of Ward 08 for their confidence in the ANC.

We wish to assure them that with their votes, the ANC will win the national elections and ensure that their lives are improved.
