*Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme House*: The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal is satisfied with the registration processes of delegates attending the Mzala Nxumalo Elective Conference this weekend.
We are encouraged by the fact that delegates from the branches, who are descending on AbaQulusi, are in high spirit as inspired by the late world renowned leader and communist, Comrade Mzala Nxumalo.
We urge delegates to treat this conference as a pilgrimage for them to reunite with the spirit of Cde Mzala Nxumalo whose mortal remains are buried in Ngoje, Vrhyheid where his family still lives.
Critically, a high level of respect and discipline is demanded by this occasion. Delegates must ensure that the conference proceeds in a dignified manner that befits the integrity of our great leader whose positive contribution towards the struggle for political freedom we shall celebrate everyday.
Lastly, our message as the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal is that it is important for ANC members and leaders across all levels to be aware that this weekend marks the end of 28th Year celebration of Freedom Weekend - having celebrated Freedom Day on Wednesday.
This weekend must therefore herald hope for the next 28 years – especially for millions of people who are yearning for economic freedom.
