ActionSA welcomes the news that Interpol has issued Red Notices for the Gupta family and their associates so they may face the full might of the law in South Africa. This is according to a statement issued by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) earlier today.

A Red Notice is issued for fugitives wanted either for prosecution or to serve a sentence. It is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action. The Guptas are now wanted criminals the world over.

Our law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, must intensify all efforts to secure the extradition of the corrupt Gupta family and their cronies.

The corrupt ANC, and its friends, the Guptas, are the architects of corruption that has robbed millions of our people of access to quality services and a functioning economy. To enrich itself, the ANC sold our country, piece by piece, to the Guptas – so they could illegally obtain South African citizenship, handpick our cabinet members, and steal billions of Rands from South Africans.

This latest announcement is a victory for all South Africans that have become gatvol with the looting of our country. It is a vindication of South Africans’ desire to see justice done. It brings all South Africans one step closer to seeing the ANC criminal enterprise, and its friends, face justice for their crimes.

Peace-loving and law-abiding South Africans want to see the laws of their country respected. They demand that the Guptas, former President, Jacob Zuma, and all those involved in State Capture must be placed behind bars. The rule of law equally demands nothing less.

ActionSA believes that upholding the rule of law is a basic requirement for us to build an inclusive and prosperous future for all South Africans. Indeed, no country can function, and no economy can grow, in a state of chaos and anarchy.

We hope that law enforcement agencies will ensure that the Guptas also have their day in court.
