ActionSA noted the withdrawal of the African National Congress’s (ANC’s) urgent Motion of No Confidence (MONC) against City of Tshwane Mayor Cilliers Brink, saying it is “appreciated”.
On Thursday, the ANC announced that it would temporarily withdraw its MONC against Brink.
Earlier, on Thursday, ActionSA had said it would join the ANC, the African Christian Democratic Party and the Economic Freedom Fighters, to vote out Brink as mayor.
“The withdrawal of the MONC is appreciated, as it allows ActionSA enough time to conclude our internal review of our position within the multi-party coalition in the City of Tshwane,” said ActionSA Gauteng provincial chairperson Funzi Ngobeni.
Ngobeni revealed ActionSA was concluding consultations with its Gauteng provincial executive committee, regional executive committee and caucus members in Tshwane and would undertake oversight visits to assess the level of service delivery in different regions of the City.
“Once this review process has been concluded, ActionSA will be in a position to communicate our position to the City of Tshwane,” he said.
