ActionSA has announced the appointment of leadership expert Adriaan Groenewald as Chief Leadership Officer to prepare party leaders to govern.

His appointment forms part of the party’s larger Training and Development Programme, ahead of the 2021 Local Government Elections.

ActionSA has resolved to prioritise leadership training and development as a core organisational value.

Groenewald is the founder of The Leadership Platform and has interviewed and written about top political, corporate, entertainment and sports leaders.

In a statement, ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba said Groenewald volunteered his services to the party and added that his appointment is the first step that the party will be taking to entrench a culture of ethical leadership.

“He will be leading a programme to raise the leadership instincts of our leaders to the conscious level, and to ensure that our leaders become and remain leadership fit. Consistent and regular Leadership Development will become mission critical and a way of life in ActionSA,” explained Mashaba.

Mashaba said one of the greatest challenges facing any political party is the development of depth and quality of leadership.

“South Africa needs ethical leaders and professional public servants to get our country on the right track,” he said.
