ActionSA Announces Successful Mayoral Candidates for the 2021 Local Government Elections

This Wednesday, 21 July 2021, ActionSA will announce its successful  Ward and Mayoral Candidates for the metropolitan municipalities of Johannesburg, Tshwane, and Ekurhuleni following over 22 000 votes cast by residents across Gauteng in our historic Candidate Elections.

In a South African first, voting in our Candidate Election gave ordinary residents the power to directly elect the Mayoral and Ward Councillor candidates they want to represent them on the ballot paper in the upcoming Local Government Elections. ActionSA has given power back to the people by letting them truly choose their representatives – a break from other political parties who elect candidates based on political patronage networks. Ours is the first transparent and democratic process that ensures our candidates on the ballot paper truly represent residents.

Our communities are gatvol. They are gatvol of corruption, load-shedding, service delivery failures, rising unemployment, crime, cadre deployment and gross incompetence.

The recent outbreak of violence and looting which gripped the Republic as a result of the governing ANC’s factional battles have exposed the crisis of leadership our communities and various arms of government are facing. There has never been a better time for communities to hold those in government accountable. In the fast-approaching Local Government Elections, residents will be able to vote for candidates who are committed to ending the corruption and poor governance that has robbed millions of South Africans of their access to quality services and economic opportunities.

Fixing South Africa will require ethical and decisive leadership that implements real measures to fight corruption, uses every cent of public money for service delivery, and implements a clear plan for creating jobs and economic opportunities for all our people – ActionSA candidates are ready to bring this change to communities.
