Nissan
Nissan is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer that produces passenger cars, commercial vehicles and luxury vehicles under the Nissan and Infiniti brands. The company, formally Nissan Motor Co., is headquartered in Yokohama, Japan, and operates manufacturing facilities across Asia, North America, Europe and Africa. Nissan is one of the world's largest automotive groups and is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The company is known for models including the Patrol, Navara, Qashqai, X-Trail and the all-electric Leaf. Nissan has a longstanding presence in South Africa, where it manufactures vehicles at the Rosslyn Plant near Pretoria and sells a range of passenger cars, SUVs and the popular Navara bakkie through an extensive dealer network. The company is part of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance, a strategic partnership that shares platforms, technology and production resources. Nissan's global strategy emphasises electrification, connectivity and emerging-market growth. The company has faced financial and governance challenges in recent years but remains a significant player in key markets. Nissan was founded in 1933 and grew to become a major exporter of Japanese vehicles during the post-war industrial expansion.
