Canada
Canada is a North American country located north of the United States, extending from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and northward into the Arctic Ocean. The capital is Ottawa, while the largest city is Toronto. With a population of about 40-million, Canada has the world's tenth-largest economy by nominal gross domestic product. The country is rich in natural resources, with dominant sectors including mining, oil and gas, forestry, agriculture and manufacturing. Canada is a leading global producer of potash, uranium, nickel, aluminium, gold and diamonds, and holds the world's third-largest proven oil reserves, primarily in the Alberta oil sands. The currency is the Canadian dollar. Canada is a federal parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy, with King Charles III as head of State represented by a Governor-General, and a Prime Minister leading the government. The country is a member of the G7, G20, NATO, the Commonwealth, the United Nations and the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement trade bloc. Canada's economy is closely integrated with that of the United States, its largest trading partner. The mining sector is particularly significant, with provinces such as Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Saskatchewan hosting major operations. Canada has a well-developed financial sector, strong rule of law and a skilled workforce, making it an attractive destination for international investment in resources and technology.
