The Chair of Intellectual Property at Stellenbosch University has responded to Government's invitation for commentary on the Draft National Policy on Intellectual Property, published in the Government Gazette on 4 September 2013. The CIP's comprehensive commentary consists of five sections drafted by the Incumbent and the Fellows of the Chair of Intellectual Property Law at Stellenbosch University.

The full text of the commentary may be downloaded above. An executive summary and introductory note to the commentary are available on the IPStell blog (click here).

It is crucial to IP legal development in Africa that all interested parties are alerted to the content of the proposed IP policy.
