The IFP is extremely disturbed by the hacking of South African Police
Services (SAPS) website which has resulted in confidential information being
leaked to the public. IFP Spokesperson on Police, Mr. Velaphi Ndlovu said,
"There seems to be large scale negligence and incompetence from SAPS
officials regarding this issue. Confidential information should never be
left on unsecure servers. This is unacceptable and SAPS must take full
responsibility for this negligence that has placed thousands of
whistleblowers lives at risk."
Ndlovu continued, "This situation will affect the South Africa Police
Services' quest in trying to get the public to assist them by
'whistleblowing' on criminal activities in their areas."
The IFP trusts that the website in which the whistleblowers information was
dumped by hackers will be shut down immediately. The hackers must be caught
and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
