The IFP Gauteng province (IFPGP) welcomes the Gauteng's school building project spearheaded by the Department of Infrastructure Development, intended for building 27 new schools in the next few years. We are pleased that the R700m has been set aside for this project and ask that this building project be properly monitored and evaluated against corrupt individuals and that our nations treasure (children) will benefit from.

IFP Caucus Leader in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) Bonginkosi Dhlamini said "We are delighted to hear the news of the province finally addressing the problem of insufficient infrastructural development in Gauteng schools. With the excessive demand for schooling primarily created by the consistent influx of families from other provinces as shown in the 2011 Statistics SA, this large injection of R700m into the construction of schools couldn't have come at a better time, and will without doubt go a long way in dealing with the dreadful scarcity of schools in this province."

IFPGP now urges the province and State to improve on the quality of education being given to our children. And that the whole education system begins to be treated as a vital cog in advancing Gauteng 2055 Provincial development plan.
