They say desperate times call for desperate measures.

It is clear our enemies have run out of steam and have now resorted to fake news in an attempt to stop the run-away train that is the IFP election campaign.

We have taken note of a letter doing the rounds purporting to be a planning document or memorandum ahead of the IFP President’s visit to the uThukela district.

While it is true that the IFP President will be visiting uThukela this week as part of the IFP's ongoing campaign - the memorandum is fake, malicious and aimed at detracting from what is the best campaign the IFP has ever run.

We appeal to those who crafted the letter to desist from such underhanded and unethical campaign tactics.

More so, we ask leaders of political parties not to just fall into the trap of any fake news that comes their way.

The IEC has made an appeal to all political parties not to disseminate fake news, and the IFP reiterates this appeal.

The IFP remains on track to reclaim the Province of KwaZulu-Natal on 29
May 2024.

Issued by IFP National Spokesperson Mkhuleko Hlengwa MP
