Eight year old Lelo Mofokeng's book How I Survived Bullying is a tell all about his ordeal of being bullied while in Grade 0 in 2016.
The young author from Esther Park wanted to help other kids who could be going through the same experience to know what to do if they are being bullied.
He tells of how his mum was his hero during this horrible ordeal.
Mofokeng is in Grade 3 and fortunately for him the bullying stopped and he is getting along with his oppressor, although they are not the best friends.
The book is a clear demonstration that many schools are still battling with bullying. Lelo ended up hating school because he was terrified of his bully.
How I Survived Bullying includes illustrations of the characters Mofokeng writes about – all these are drawn by him. He is passionate about animation, even more than he is about writing.
He also advises bullies to be nice and if they have a sad heart, to speak to a teacher or family member.
The eight-year-old is currently working on four different books.
