GCIS: Statement by the Government Communications and Information System, Government saddened by the passing away of Vuyo Mbuli (19/05/2013)

Government is saddened by the death of one of South Africa’s prolific and veteran journalist, Vuyo Mbuli, who according to media reports passed away in the early hours of this morning in Bloemfontein.
 
Mbuli is known to all South Africans for his appearance in our homes during the SABC Morning Live show and through SABC radio. He was a seasoned and experienced journalist whose reporting contributed to shaping South Africa’s discourse.
 
GCIS Acting CEO, Phumla Williams, said “government expresses its deepest condolences to his family, friends and the media industry. Vuyo has touched the hearts of South Africans through his work. ”
 
His death is a huge loss to the media industry and South Africa.
