The family members of the deceased mental health patients who were transferred from Life Esidimeni to Non-Governmental Organisations will host a healing session on Saturday,18 February 2017 at Freedom Park. The Gauteng Provincial Government is working with the families in organising the session.
The session is aimed at providing a platform for families to reflect on what has happened and share experiences with one another. The request for the healing session was made to the Premier during a meeting with the families in December 2016. This initiative is one of the mechanisms by government to assist affected families find closure.
